Pediatric Radiology Fellowship
Since 1974, the Division of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology has offered a one-year ACGME-accredited Pediatric Radiology Fellowship. In addition, we offer non-ACGME one-year programs in Pediatric Neuroradiology and Advanced Pediatric Radiology. Our mission is to train individuals who will provide high quality imaging care for children and serve as leaders and mentors in responsible practice, education, research and advocacy.
Training includes radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, PET - CT, cardiovascular imaging, interventional radiology, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and fetal imaging.
Fellows are responsible for:
- Developing a comprehensive mastery of clinical pediatric radiology
- Ensuring timely and compassionate patient care
- Communicating issues of importance in a clear and effective manner
- Maintaining strong and effective working relationships
- Assuring that deficiencies are identified and corrected
- Participating in departmental governance activities
- Understanding and providing appropriate risk management decisions and mitigation strategies
About the Division of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology
Our team performs over 130,000 diagnostic and minimally invasive procedures annually using state-of-the-art imaging equipment. We provide our patients with a supportive family environment and use the lowest achievable exposure to radiation, minimizing the chance for possible risk. Many of our radiologists are national and international authorities in the field, with many radiologists identifying a pediatric radiology subspecialty of expertise. We employ over 160 radiologists, research faculty, physicists, technologists, nurses and support staff. Our board-certified radiologists hold additional certifications in pediatric radiology, neuroradiology and vascular/interventional radiology. Our technologists are certified in specific modalities and are trained to work specifically with the pediatric population.
