Features: The interactive part of Epocrates. Updated like the rest of the program with AutoUpdate, this section under the black bag tab contains Doc Alert, MedTools and MedMath. Below are the applications contained in MedTools:
- BMI & Obesity Tool
- Bone Health Assessment Tool
- Dynamic IV Drip Calculator
- Epocrates Essentials for Cardiology MedTools
- Epocrates Essentials Tutorial
- Epocrates MobileCME
- GFR Calculator
- HTN QuickRef™
- Insulin Dosing Calculator
- NCI Tumor Staging Reference
- Physician Psychiatry Compendica
- STATCholesterol
- Temperature Conversion Calculator
Usability/Navigation: This is a hodgepodge of tools from the very nice Mobile CME (with pediatric topics), the often industry sponsored "MedTools" with variable degrees of pediatric applicability, MedMath-a traditional medical calculator with many formulas and the integrated drug calculator found in the Rx section.
There is varying amounts of utility in these products especially for the pediatric clinician. Best of which is the new Mobile CME. It reviews a topic, asks a few questions then after an adequate score and the next sync, it will generate a CME certificate sent to your email account.
Pros:
- Nice Mobile CME program
- Large variety of helpful tools
Cons:
Bottom line: A fairly nice bunch of tools that have some pediatric relevance. The Mobile CME product is a great addition.
