The Sheikh Zayed Institute's STAR Robot Featured by the Associated Press and Others

Peter Kim, MD, CM, PhD, and a team of surgeons and scientists from the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation created a robotic device called STAR (Smart Tissue Autonomous Robot), which combines a robotic arm with suturing equipment that performs complex soft tissue surgery without the surgeons hands.
