Washington Post Illustrator Captures Children's National Patients in Moving View of the CICU

Richard Johnson, illustrator with the Washington Post, visited Children’s National Health System, where he spent time with four families in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Richard sketched images of the families during their time in the CICU, capturing unique and intense moments on the unit, among the parents, children, and the nearly 50 nurses, doctors, specialists, and technicians who staff the unit led by John T. Berger, MD, CICU Director.
