Children's National Announces Rahul Shah, MD, as Vice President, Chief Quality and Safety Officer

Washington, DC – Rahul K. Shah, MD, MBA, has been named Vice President, Chief Quality and Safety Officer at Children’s National Health System.

In this  new role, Dr. Shah will lead the system-wide coordination of Children’s quality and safety program focusing on patient safety, quality improvement, accreditation/licensure, patient care polices and outcomes.  In collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team including medical, nursing and operations staff, he will also lead strategic initiatives to develop new, standardized care models advancing patient processes and systems of care.

An internationally recognized pediatric surgeon, instructor and author, Dr. Rahul is an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology and Pediatrics, the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Associate Surgeon-in-Chief, Joseph E. Robert Jr., Center for Surgical Care, President of the Medical Staff, and Medical Director of Peri-operative Services at Children’s National.

Dr. Shah received his doctorate from Boston University and MBA from the George Washington University.
