Pediatrician Talks to the New York Times Baby Video Monitors

Experts and parents discuss when parents should stop using video monitors to watch their children at night. Judith Owens, MD, Center for Heart, Lung, and Kidney Disease, says if children “are old enough to recognize that they are being watched on the video monitor, then it’s probably time to stop.” She also adds that for children with some sleep problems or medical conditions, continued monitoring may be needed.
