Children's National Husband-Wife Medical Team Explores the Fetal Brain

Adré J. du Plessis, MD, MBChB, MPH,  Chief, Division of Fetal and Transitional Medicine, and Catherine Limperopoulos, PhD,  Director of the MRI Research of the Developing Brain, and Director, Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology/Fetal and Transitional Medicine, tell WAMU’s Metro Connection about being partners in life and in science. 

At Children’s National they focus on fetal brain development. Their research aims to prevent brain injury before it happens, Dr. du Plessis says, adding their team hopes to “advance the quality of life of these kids.”
