Interns are assigned a field instructor who guides the intern through the world of pediatric medical social work. Interns are valued members of the Social Work program within the Department of Family Services and complete their field work with invaluable skills and an understanding of the complexities of medical social work.
Interns are expected to participate actively in their own education, completing weekly supervision, attending monthly education sessions and presenting a case study at the end of the academic year.
There are no intern stipends offered at Children’s National. All interns are required to be cleared through a background investigation. Interns must meet our Occupational Health requirements which include completion of our medical form by your private physician and up to date immunizations. Currently there is no cost to the intern.
