Joyce Turner is a genetic counselor with more than 15 years of clinical experience. She holds certification from the American Board of Medical Genetics and the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
Joyce obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Masters in Medical Genetics. She helped establish the Cancer Genetics Clinic at Children’s National Health System, for which she is the Director of the Cancer Genetic Counseling Program. Her current interests include pediatric cancer genetics and research. Joyce is a co-investigator in the Clinical and Genetic Investigation of the Pleuropulminary blastoma/DICER1 Family Cancer Syndrome research study. In addition to her clinical and research responsibilities, Joyce is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors where she is a Project Leader for the Pediatric Cancer Genetics Subcommittee and is overseeing the establishment of the Pediatric Cancer Genetic Syndrome Research Registry. Additionally, Joyce is involved with the training of genetic counseling graduate students. She is a faculty member at the George Washington University where she is a Clinical Instructor.
