The Ophthalmic Genetics Clinic is devoted specifically to children and adults with inherited eye disease and their families. We work closely with Ophthalmology, Genetics and Neurology to meet the special needs of our patients. Genetic counseling is among the services offered by this multidisciplinary team.


Rare Disease Institute

A first-of-its-kind center, the Rare Disease Institute focuses exclusively on advancing the care and treatment of children and adults with rare genetic diseases.

  • Congenital eye malformations (coloboma, microphthalmia and aniridia)
  • Genetic syndromes
  • Metabolic abnormalities (Tay Sachs or Hurler syndrome)
  • Retinal degenerations (Leber congenital amaurosis)
