Nabile Safdar, MD, is a radiologist who specializes in musculoskeletal imaging. He is one of a dozen radiologists who is fellowship-trained in imaging informatics. In addition to his role as a radiologist, he is a principal investigator in the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation.
Dr. Safdar’s areas of research include optimizing computer interfaces for communication, measuring and improving the factors that affect radiologist performance, and computer aided diagnosis. He works with both bioengineers and orthopedic surgeons in the development of innovative approaches to the diagnosis, treatment planning, motion analysis, and post-operative evaluation of children with musculoskeletal and sports related diseases and injuries.
Within The Sheikh Zayed Institute, Dr. Safdar works within the Bioengineering Initiative. His research will focus on improving pre- and post-surgical evaluation through biomedical imaging and computational sciences and improving the training of radiologists and surgeons in these advanced methods, including the use of computer assisted surgery.
