Bio

Biography

Leigh Marcus, MD, is an Assistant Professor at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Attending Physician at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. She is a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Program in the Division of Oncology at Children’s National Health System, and specializes in Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Dr. Marcus serves as a member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma subcommittee, which is the international consortium for children with cancer. She is also their Young Investigator (YI) liaison. Dr. Marcus is Principle Investigator (PI) for Therapeutic Advances in Childhood Leukemia and Lymphoma (TACL), the early phase clinical trials consortia for leukemia and lymphoma in childhood. Dr. Marcus is the Responsible Investigator (RI) on most acute lymphoblastic leukemia COG trials at Children's National. She also is the assistant medical unit director of the inpatient hematology,oncology, and bone marrow unit at Children's. Dr. Marcus has been an invited speaker at various venues including Food and Drug Administration (FDA), American Association for Clinical Research (AACR), Johns Hopkins Hospital, and National Cancer Institute (NCI) at National Institutes of Health (NIH).
