Bio

Biography

Laura Anthony, PhD, specializes in the assessment and treatment of children and teens with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their families. Her current research is focused on developing classroom strategies to help children with ASD learn cognitive and behavioral flexibility. Dr. Anthony earned her PhD in Clinical and Developmental Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and did her training in Child Psychology at the University of Maryland Medical System. She was on the faculty at Maryland for eight years and has been with Children's National Health System since 2007. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the International Society for Autism Research, and the Society for Research in Child Development. In addition to a robust clinical practice caring for children and teens, she continues her research and publishing, authoring numerous articles, treatment manuals and book chapters on identification and caring for children and teens with mental health conditions and developmental disorders.
