Senior Advisor, Global Services
Ms. Paiva is the Senior Advisor, Global Services for Children’s National Health System, working with our specialists to ensure that patient families from around the world receive the highest quality care and attention at our hospital. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Paiva worked with the Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation, supporting relationship building efforts and managing partnership projects for Children’s National in the United Arab Emirates. In that role, Ms. Paiva also managed and facilitated visits to Children’s National for several families from the UAE, ensuring their experience was as smooth and positive as possible. She has 15 years’ experience in international health communications program development and management.
Before joining Children’s National in 2010, Ms. Paiva served as a Director with MMG, a global healthcare patient recruitment and retention company working with pharmaceutical companies, the National Institutes of Health, and nonprofit organizations including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Fluent in Spanish and Italian with a working knowledge of French, Portuguese, and Guarani, Ms. Paiva enjoys learning languages and about other cultures. She is currently studying Arabic. A native of Paraguay, she has found her international work--specifically, assisting patient families from other countries--to be the most personally rewarding. Ms. Paiva received her master’s degree in Public Communication, with distinction, from American University in May 2012. Her graduate studies focused on intercultural communications. Ms. Paiva received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland.
