Health Insurance PPO and HMO Options

Children's provides employees an opportunity to participate in one of two types of health insurance plans: a PPO- Preferred Provider Option; or, an HMO- Health Maintenance Organization. Employees share a portion of the premium costs, and premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis from an employee's pay. Coverage types are offered for employees and employees plus their families. Coverage is available the first of the month after the date of hire.

Supplemental Life and Long Term Care Insurance

Children's offers you the option of purchasing supplemental life insurance as well as Long Term Care Insurance coverage through payroll deduction. The supplemental life insurance program is available to provide additional financial protection in the event of the death of the staff member or of a covered dependent. Long Term Care Insurance is available for employee purchase through payroll deduction. This insurance provides for coverage for day in, day out assistance you need when you have a serious illness or disability that lasts for a period of time, resulting in your inability to care for yourself.

During new employment eligibility, this coverage is available on a guaranteed issue basis. This means that evidence of good health will not be required to purchase coverage. Since this life insurance coverage is fully portable after separation from Children's, this is an excellent opportunity to add to your insurance coverage or obtain new insurance at low group rates.
