Burn Safety

Burns are among the most devastating and painful injuries for children.  Last year, over 850 children were treated for burns at Children’s National Medical Center.  Over 250 of those kids required hospitalization to treat their injuries.

Most burns can been prevented with a few simple steps.  Children’s National Medical Center and the DC Department of Health encourage you to examine the information on these pages, and take steps to protect your family from unintended injury.
