We want to make sure young mothers and fathers have the support they need to raise healthy, happy children.

The Healthy Generations Program is a "teen-tot" program that provides medical care, family planning, case management, social work, and mental health services for teenaged parents and their children.

The program is family-centered, educating parents during their child’s well visit. This promotes hands-on interaction between parent and child and strengthens the relationship between patient and provider.

We also connect parents with community resources and services, such as the Women, Infant, and Children program.

Measurable Results

Last year, Healthy Generations served over 375 families. Teen parents in the program are more likely than average to be in school, graduate, and not become pregnant again.

  • 82 percent of adolescents enrolled in the program graduated or stayed in high school
  • 74 percent of parents reported the use of contraceptives – just shy of the program goal of 80
  • Only 9 percent of participants became pregnant again– much lower than the 15 percent goal
  • Participating children also have higher rates of immunization and Head Start enrollment
