Dr. Batshaw is also professor and chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Denice Cora-Bramble, MD, MBA, is Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President of Ambulatory and Community Health Services. In this role she leads all regional ambulatory clinical operations including eight pediatric subspecialty regional outpatient centers, two emergency departments, seven general pediatrics health centers, twelve pediatric practices, nine school-based health centers, and three mobile medical units, as well as nursing services in DC Public Schools and Public Charter Schools.

Kathleen Chavanu Gorman, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, is Executive Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Operating Officer. Kathy is a nurse leader who has advanced patient safety, quality, and clinical resource management to improve care outcomes and inform policy for children and families.

Mary Anne Hilliard, Esq, is Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. She oversees Legal Services, Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Insurance, Workers Compensation, and Captive Management.

Brian Jacobs

Brian Jacobs, MD, is Vice President, Chief Medical Information Officer and Chief Information Officer. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Pediatric Informatics. In this capacity, he directs the Children’s IQ Network® a pediatric health information exchange in the DC metropolitan region.

Pam King Sams

Pam King Sams

Pam King Sams, CFRE, is the Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer. She directs fundraising strategies and helps lead partnerships for Children’s National. Pam has dedicated the past 23 years to leading comprehensive development programs on behalf of internationally-recognized academic universities, pediatric medical centers, and U.S. community hospitals, to universally improve the health of children and adults.

Michelle McGuire

Michelle McGuire, MBA, is Vice President and Chief of Staff. She serves as an adviser to the CEO providing strategic oversight and ensuring alignment of organizational priorities. Michelle’s responsibilities also include leading special projects for the health system and partnering with members of the executive team on the execution of critical business functions across the organization.

Douglas Myers

Douglas Myers, MBA, CPA, is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He brings a wealth of experience to Children's National with almost 30 years as a CFO in hospitals and health systems, working with a mixture of for-profit and not-for-profit, adult, and pediatric organizations.

Mary Ottolini

Mary Ottolini, MD, is Vice Chair of Medical Education. She works as a Hospitalist at Children’s National. Dr. Ottolini leads Children's National educational mission to support the highest standard of excellence in caring for children by preparing pediatric caregivers, both within and beyond our walls, to practice outstanding pediatric medicine in the 21st century.

Roger Packer

Roger Packer, MD, is Senior Vice President for the Center of Neuroscience and Behavioral Medicine, Gilbert Distinguished Professor of Neurofibromatosis, and is Director of both the Gilbert Neurofibromatosis Institute and the Brain Tumor Institute.

Anthony Sandler, MD, is the Senior Vice President of the Joseph E. Robert, Jr., Center for Surgical Care. He is the Diane and Norman Bernstein Professor in Pediatric Surgery and also a principal investigator in the Immunology Initiative of the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation.

Robin Steinhorn

Robin Steinhorn, MD, is Senior Vice President of Center for Hospital Based Specialties. She is a nationally and internationally known physician-leader, clinician, and researcher in the fields of neonatal perinatal medicine and fetal pulmonary development.

Linda Talley, MS, BSN, RN, NE-BC, is Vice President of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer. She joined Children’s National as a staff nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Mendel Tuchman

Mendel Tuchman, MD, is Chief Research Officer at Children's National, Vice Chairman for Research and Scientific Director of the Children's Research Institute, and a Professor of Pediatrics at The George Washington University.

Darryl Varnado is Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer. He joined Children’s National in 2012 and focuses on leading the workforce at Children’s National through leadership and talent development, and taking the institution to new heights in human resources processes.

David Wessel

David Wessel, MD, is Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Hospital and Specialty Services, and the Ikaria Distinguished Professor of Critical Care Medicine. He also is Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and of Pediatrics at The George Washington University.
