Robin Steinhorn, MD, is Senior Vice President of Center for Hospital Based Specialties. She is a nationally and internationally known physician-leader, clinician, and researcher in the fields of neonatal perinatal medicine and fetal pulmonary development. Her clinical and academic interests have focused primarily on the pulmonary vascular development of the fetus and newborn. She was recently elected to the Council of the American Pediatric Society (2015-2020) and is completing a term on the American Board of Pediatrics (Neonatal Perinatal Medicine). She is en elected fellow of the American Heart Association and a member of the Perinatal Research Society and the American Thoracic Society. She is slated become an editor of the Journal of Pediatrics in the fall of 2015.

She joins Children’s National from the University of California Davis School of Medicine where she served as a professor and the chair of the Department of Pediatrics. She also served as. Physician in Chief, University of California, Davis Children’s Hospital.
