Pediatrics & Child Neurology Combined Pediatric Residency Program

Overview

The Child Neurology program is an ACGME-accredited categorical residency position offering a two year pediatric and a three year neurology training program to achieve board eligibility and full qualification for a career in pediatric neurology including board eligibility in pediatrics.  

The first two years of training are spent in Pediatric Residency and include a variety of clinical rotations preparing you for your career in pediatrics and child neurology.  This is followed by the child neurology residency which includes one year of adult neurology and two years of child neurology.    Additional information regarding the fellowship portion of the program can be found here.

Eligibility
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited medical school and hold either and MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree.

Certification
Upon completion of the combined program, trainees will qualify for board certification in Pediatrics and Child Neurology.

Applications
The combined Pediatrics & Child Neurology Program is highly competitive and typically accepts three candidates per year.  Applicants should apply through ERAS in duplicate to the Pediatric Residency Program ("Pediatrics/Child Neurology/5-yr Track") and to the Child Neurology department.

Interviews and Appointments
Competitive candidates will be invited to interview at CNMC over two days to allow for time to meet with both the Pediatrics and Child Neurology teams.  A single rank list will be generated for selection through the NRMP.
