Anesthesiology Fellowship

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are all of your fellowship spots within the match?

Children’s National Health System Pediatric Fellowship is committed to participating in the Pediatric Anesthesia Match, managed by the NRMP. Our nine positions will be filled through the NRMP Match.

2. What documents do you need for the application?

Our program uses the Common Application form, found on the SPA website, and participates in the NRMP match. In addition to the application we also need the following:
  • At least three letters of recommendation from three physicians (one of whom must be the chairman or program director of the department where you trained)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement
  • Copies of most recent in-training exam score, USMLE scores (1-3), and ECFMG certificate (if applies).
You may e-mail or snail mail your application, but please DO NOT SEND BOTH. Please inform your letter writers to either e-mail or snail mail your letters of recommendation. Note: Sending both sometimes delays the completion of your application because we will review duplicated documents.
3. Do you accept any H1 visa applications?

At this time, we are not accepting any H-1 visa applications.

4. When do you accept applications?

We accept applications from November 1st through August 1st of each year.

5. When does your interview process begin?

The interview process begins in February.
