American Academy of Pediatrics Conference and Exhibition in Washington, DC

Children’s National welcomes alumni, healthcare professionals, and friends to the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition (NCE) in Washington, DC! Children’s National expert leads AAP call for tobacco-free environments for all children

Dana Best, MD, a pediatrician at Children’s National Medical Center, is one of the lead authors on a new American Academy of Pediatrics policy statement on tobacco-free environments for children. The policy will appear in the November issue of Pediatrics, and was presented on Monday, October 19, at the AAP National Conference and Exhibition in Washington, DC.

Join the nation’s children’s hospital for a newsworthy event at one of Washington, DC’s most popular museums.

5:00-6:00 pm Private tour of Newseum
6:30-8:00 pm Reception

The Newseum is one of DC’s most popular attractions, located within blocks of the U.S. Capitol and the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter Metro stop. The museum offers visitors an experience that blends five centuries of news history with up-to-the-second technology and hands-on exhibits. Learn more about the Newseum.

Guests of Children's National can enjoy a private tour of the museum after all other visitors have left. Go to the main entrance to start your tour. 

The annual reception will take place on the top floor of the museum, offering the best views of the city and exclusive catering by Wolfgang Puck, including light hors d’oeuvres.

If you plan to only attend the reception, the entrance to the 8th Floor is located on 6th St., between C St. and Pennsylvania Ave, through a door marked Freedom Forum. Street parking is available, or the Newseum is a quick, 15-minute walk from conference events.
