Biography

Dr. Fagbuyi is the Medical Director of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. He is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine with board certification in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He is native to the DC area and an Emergency Department attending physician who provides strategic leadership for Children’s National Medical Center’s disaster preparedness, response, and community outreach efforts.
Dr. Fagbuyi was recently appointed by the US Secretary of Health and Human Services to the National Biodefense Science Board and has been a crucial advisor and subject matter expert instrumental in numerous national and local initiatives/committees to include the National Commission on Children and Disasters, American Academy of Pediatrics Disaster Preparedness Advisory Council, American Medical Association, RAND Corporation, National Health Security Strategic Committee, AHRQ, FDA pediatric medical countermeasures, HHS National Public Health and Healthcare Radiological/Nuclear Scarce Resource Allocation, Institute of Medicine, National Library of Medicine, Association of Schools of Public Health, National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health, Department of Homeland Security, and other agencies. He continues to deliver expert testimony and presentations to the Bi-Partisan committees and congressional leaders on the Hill.
