Biography

Nailah Coleman, MD, FAAP, is a sports medicine pediatrician in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. She is board certified in both pediatrics and sports medicine.

During her training, Dr. Coleman worked in four different hospital environments and had the opportunity to see children at different life stages and assess their growth and wellness. She observed a need to improve the physical health of the athletic and the non-athletic student during their various developmental stages. She believes that athletic performance, nutrition, and physical health plans should be developed and tracked for all students, starting in primary school and continuing through college. Sports medicine should include the athlete and the non-athlete.

Dr. Coleman enjoys cooking, traveling, reading, yoga, and participating in sports.

*This physician is an employee of Children’s National Specialists of Virginia, LLC.
