Start Early, Start Right - Preventing & Treating Obesity Among Latino Children Ages 2-6 Start Early, Start Right is an intervention research study designed to prevent and treat obesity among Latino children between the ages of 2 and 6, but with the parents as the primary target of the intervention.
Several local organizations are collaborating on this important study, including the Family Place, a community drop-in center and the Capital Area Food Bank. The DC Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program funded the pilot phase of the study, and the Florence and Norman Brody Fund will provide funding through 2008.
