Children’s Orthopaedic Facilities
Children’s orthopaedic facilities and operating rooms are state-of-the-art and kid-friendly. Equipment is sized for smaller patients, and the environment is designed to make children and waiting families as comfortable as possible.
Comprehensive Spine Program
Children's consists of six orthopaedic surgeons and four pediatric neurosurgeons who provide diagnostic and treatment services for children and teens with conditions including idiopathic scoliosis, congenital spine deformities, spinal trauma, and spinal tumors. The team uses state-of-the-art treatments such as inoperative CT imaging, minimally invasive techniques, and VEPTR treatment for children with complex spine disorders.
For the convenience of patients and parents, orthopaedic services, including casting and X-ray facilities, surgical procedures are available at the main hospital location in Washington, DC, and each Regional Outpatient Centers. Outpatient procedures can be performed at the Montgomery County Ambulatory Surgery Center and at Children’s affiliated private practice in Fairfax, Children’s National Specialists of Virginia, LLC.
