Sleep Medicine
Good quality sleep is essential for a child’s normal development. Inadequate or disrupted sleep can lead to significant behavioral and learning problems. Children’s Pediatric Sleep Disorders Program evaluates and treats infants, children and adolescents with a broad range of sleep disorders.
These disorders are often characterized by insufficient, disrupted, or fragmented sleep, snoring, behavioral disorders, circadian rhythm disorders or excessive daytime sleepiness. Children’s interdisciplinary sleep medicine team includes sleep specialists, pulmonologists, behavioral child psychologists, and nurses. Diagnostic testing, therapeutic intervention and follow-up are provided for all sleep disorders from infancy through adolescence. Specialized testing is available for patients who require nocturnal oxygen or non-invasive ventilatory support.
