The Division of Endocrinology at Children's National Medical Center consists of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to helping families cope with the diagnosis and management of endocrine disorders and childhood diabetes. Our team includes board-certified endocrinologists, pediatric diabetes specialists, registered nurses and nurse practitioners, certified diabetes educators, a dietitian, and both psychology and social work services. Children’s has the largest endocrinology program in the mid-Atlantic region and see patients both at the main hospital and at six conveniently-located satellite offices. In 2006-2007, we saw more than 1,600 new patients and had nearly 8,000 outpatient visits.
In addition to diabetes, Children's Division of Endocrinology sees large numbers of children with growth disorders, thyroid disorders, and puberty disorders, as well as a variety of less endocrine problems.

Our diabetes program includes confirmation of diagnosis and management of type 1, type 2, and cystic fibrosis-related diabetes.
