Nephrology
The Division of Nephrology offers diagnostic procedures and treatment for hypertension and the entire range of diseases of the kidney and urinary tract in children. This includes hematuria, nephrotic syndrome, chronic and acute renal failure, congenital renal disease, hematuria, proteinuria, and glomerulonephritis. Dialysis program provides care for patients in need of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Kidney transplantation program provides for donor and recipient evaluation, as well as long-term management of kidney transplants.
Apart from physicians, highly trained nurses, a renal nutritionist and renal social worker form an integral part of the patient care team. Multi-disciplinary teams provide ongoing care of patients in the outpatient as well as in the in-patient setting. Participation of the families in the care of their children is highly encouraged.
