Neurosurgery
The Division of Neurosurgery at Children’s National Medical Center is a regional, national and international destination for newborns and children with disease, trauma or malformation of the brain, spine or nervous system.
The neurosurgery team is comprised of senior practitioners – authors of leading medical texts and articles – who continuously set the standard in surgical intervention and who routinely tackle complex cases.
Hundreds of procedures are performed every year, with excellent outcomes.
Children’s neurosurgeons define the standard of care by integrating into all procedures advanced neuro-imaging and neurophysiological monitoring. Our neurosurgeons routinely use minimally-invasive strategies when appropriate.
Children’s boasts state-of-the art, technically-advanced, neuro newborn intensive care and neuro pediatric intensive care rooms. Our facilities also feature individual, post-surgery care suites with all amenities.
Evaluations, procedures, and follow-up care are provided at the hospital in Washington, DC, and across the region at our facilities located in Annapolis, Maryland and Fairfax, Virginia.
