"We have to make sure that all sports that kids are involved in are understood in terms of the risks — that we are educating and preparing the coaches and the parents and the kids around those risks," he said.

The term mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) is used interchangeably with the term concussion.
In a compelling study, Children’s National Health System researchers found that as many as 88 percent of high school, middle school, and elementary school students who sustained concussions, had academic problems within four weeks of sustaining the injury.
