More Than a Hospital
Children’s National Health System’s specialists are experts in caring for kids, and it’s all we do.
With locations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, we take a team approach to caring for children in their communities.
The team includes our leadership and a wide range of facilities and specialists, from pediatricians to pediatric subspecialists, ensuring that our patients’ care is integrated among all team members.

Experts in Care
Surgical excellence stems from experience, and surgeons at Children’s National Health System perform upward of 18,000 procedures annually.
"Each member of our faculty is a nationally or internationally renowned as an expert," Timothy D. Kane, MD, Chief of the Division of Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery at Children’s National and the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation, says. "When physicians refer their patients here, they know they’re accessing the best of the best. We have assembled an elite group of surgeons, scientists, and academicians to provide the highest standard of pediatric surgical care."

The White House and CDC have selected Children's National Health System to serve as an Ebola-ready treatment center. Our team is prepared to care for patients if needed.
While Ebola is a rare but serious disease, it can also be a scary and sensitive topic, especially for children. We've talked with our pediatric specialists in mental health and infectious diseases to provide guidance for parents on how to talk with children.
Our Ebola Resource Center has information for talking with children about Ebola, as well as information on our preparedness.
